Police conclude investigations at Dreamworld accident scene

Queensland Police have finished their investigation of the crime scene at Dreamworld, almost two weeks after ride malfunctioned and killed four people.

The site has now been handed back to Dreamworld, although police are continuing to investigate the incident ahead of a report being handed to the coroner.

Retired Inspector from Queensland Police Mike Mckay led the inquest, which triggered a state-wide safety review of theme parks.

Last week Coroner James McDougall joined detectives at the Gold Coast theme park today for a re-enactment of the tragic accident.

Mr McDougall said the re-enactment, which involved the use of weighted crash test dummies in one of the ride's rafts, gave him an insight into the crash.

"It was all very complicated," he said.

Siblings Luke Dorsett and Kate Goodchild died alongside Mr Dorsett's partner Roozi Araghi and another woman, Cindy Low, when their raft flipped on the Thunder River Rapids ride on October 25.

Today Ms Goodchild and Mr Dorsett where farewelled by mourners at their funeral in Canberra.
