Pedestrian dies after being hit on busy Gold Coast highway

A man has died after he was hit by two cars on the Pacific Motorway on the Gold Coast.
Police say the man, believed to be in his 60s, was struck just after 6.20am on Friday after he walked onto the southbound lanes of the busy highway at Helensvale.
He died at the scene.

The two drivers were taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
Drivers are facing significant delays as some southbound lanes remain closed so forensic police can investigate.
Motorists are being urged to avoid the area.
