Parents of murdered Singh children break silence

The parents of the three Singh siblings who were murdered by Max Sica have spoken of their anguish in their first sit-down interview since their children were killed more than a decade ago.

Sica strangled his ex-girlfriend Neelma Singh, 24, and beat her siblings Kunal, 18, and Sidhi, 12, before dumping their bodies in a bathtub in their Queensland home in April 2003.

In an emotional interview with Channel Nine's A Current Affair set to air tonight, Vijay and Shirley Singh speak out about the turmoil they faced in their 11-year wait for justice.

"How can you be happy? It's not a happy moment," Mrs Singh told reporter Dan Nolan.

"[I'm] happy that someone's behind the bars, but why am I happy?

"This should not have happened in the first place."

Sica was found guilty and sentenced to 35 years without parole in July 2012 – it is the longest sentence handed down in Queensland history.
