Palmer to search further for documents

Clive Palmer has again failed to give a court all documents detailing communications between himself and nephew Clive Mensink.

Under the Federal Court order, made last week, the former federal MP was due to hand over telephone records, emails, texts, letters, voice recordings and other materials dating as far back as June 1, 2016.

It's part of the ongoing court actions by lawyers for liquidators appointed after Queensland Nickel's 2016 collapse.

During a hearing on Wednesday, the court heard Mr Palmer had supplied some documents relating to Mr Mensink's employment arrangement with the company.

Mr Palmer's barrister Edmund Robinson said more documents may be handed over on Friday.

"Further searches will be conducted," he said.

On Friday Mr Mensink's son Ryan and Mr Palmer's employee Craig Gunnis are due to be questioned in court.

During last week's hearing, Mr Robinson argued the task was too large and would "take at least a couple of months" to complete.

The liquidators' barrister, Angela Rae, said that was not a sufficient response to the court order to produce documents.

Records from Vodafone were also being sought while Westpac, Telstra and All Way Travel had complied with orders to provide Mr Mensink's bank, telephone and travel records, the court has heard.

Mr Palmer wasn't present at court.
