Ex-One Nation adviser on trial for rape

A former One Nation staffer has faced a Brisbane court accused of assaulting and raping a woman in 2007.

Sean Black, former media adviser to ex-Senator Malcolm Roberts, faces three counts of assault occasioning bodily harm and one count of rape.

Giving his opening remarks in the Brisbane District Court on Monday, crown prosecutor Brendan White said the woman suffered bruising and soft tissue injuries from the assaults.

Mr White said following the first two assaults Black raped the woman in late October 2007 after he noticed her bruises and she told him not to hit her.

She approached him around a month later about the assaults and Black allegedly struck her in the stomach and threatened to kill her before breaking her phone.

The trial continues on Tuesday.
