North Queensland wife killer loses appeal

A Queensland man serving a life sentence for murdering his wife and dissolving her body in acid has lost an appeal.

In 2013, Klaus Andres was found guilty of murdering 42-year-old Chinese woman Li Ping Cao at their Cairns home and dissolving her body in a wheelie bin full of hydrochloric acid.

Andres mounted an appeal in May on the grounds the conviction was unreasonable, but his challenge was dismissed in a Court of Appeal decision on Friday.
