Newman mum on G20 events at Qld parliament

Queensland's premier is being tight-lipped about the possibility of world leaders attending events at state parliament during the G20.

Speaker Fiona Simpson issued a directive on Thursday effectively banning everyone but MPs, their spouses and essential staff from Parliament House during next weekend's summit.

When asked if there were any G20 events organised at parliament during that period, Premier Campbell Newman refused to comment.

"I don't think I'm at liberty to talk about specifics about the way things are being used," he told reporters.

"I really do need to take the advice of the people who are running the security."
