WHAT WAS SAID

Police Union president Ian Leavers claiming the premier never delivered on a personal pledge for extra police:

"Campbell Newman looked me in the eye and he lied to me."

Newman hosing down Mr Leavers's allegation:

"Well, I reckon there's some sort of misunderstanding. I'm more than happy to sit down with him to clarify that."
