Murder charge over fatal Qld crash

A Queensland man has been charged with murder over a fatal car crash that killed one man and injured five others.

The 24-year-old from Eatons Hill was in a car that hit another vehicle on Old Northern Road at McDowall, in Brisbane's north, on April 8.

A 66-year-old Thai national was killed at the scene.

Both male drivers, aged 33 and 24, were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries along with three other female passengers.

The 24-year-old has been charged with one count each of murder, manslaughter, wilful damage, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and four counts of acts intending grievous bodily harm.

He will appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on August 6.
