Police have found the body of a nine-year-old boy who went missing yesterday when he was hit by a jet ski on the banks of a Mount Isa lake.

The boy was standing at the edge of Lake Moondarra when a jet ski carrying a 34-year-old man and a six-year-old boy, believed to be the child's father and brother, hit him at high speed around 11am.

The man and the six-year-old were taken to Mount Isa Hospital with suspected head, spinal and leg injuries.

The nine-year-old boy was found by a police diving team around 6am.

A search of the area, including a helicopter, ground and swift water rescue crews, was conducted until dusk yesterday and resumed at dawn this morning.
