More Mongols arrested in Qld drug raids

The alleged Queensland president of the Mongols bikie gang accused of masterminding a huge drug syndicate will stay behind bars until July, while seven more associates have been arrested.

Nick "The Knife" Forbes, 45, did not apply for bail when he appeared in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Wednesday morning, just after police completed another series of drug raids on the Gold Coast.

Seven men, all alleged Mongols gang members, were charged with various drug offences after steroids and weapons were seized from five properties across the region, according to the Gold Coast Bulletin.

The raids are believed to be the final in an 18-month investigation that netted more than 100 people accused of helping run a multi-million dollar drugs syndicate.

Ten patched members were charged with drug trafficking, with police to allege they were each selling $100,000 worth of ice a week.

These included Forbes, who is facing multiple charges.

Forbes' lawyer said his client would apply for bail when his matter returns to court on July 9.

The club's alleged 26-year-old treasurer and its 29-year-old enforcer are due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court later on Wednesday.
