Missing mother and son found safe in Qld

A mother and her baby son who were missing for more than two weeks have been found safe and well in Cairns.

Kirsty McDonald, 26, and her five-month-old son were last seen on July 16, and police held expressed serious concerns for their safety after they failed to make contact with family members.

Police say both are fine and have thanked the public for their assistance but gave no further details about where the pair had been.
