The Sunshine Coast surfer was reported missing on August 28.

A piece of surfboard was recovered near the Shipwreck’s break on Nusa Lembongan island and identified as belonging to Mr Maynard.

There has been no sign of the father-of-three since he was seen at his hotel on the morning of August 28.

Mrs Maynard has since offered a $5000 reward for finding her husband “alive or not”.

Head of the crime section of Klungkung Police, Nyoman Wirajaya, said he had not given up hope of a breakthrough “as many possibility could have happened".

Police said the search would not be limited to the standard procedure of 15 days from when he was reported missing.

“We will evaluate and decide whether we will continue to search or stop,” Mr Wirajaya told NewsCorp

“They said thank you and asked us to give them any news immediately if Peter is found or any other findings.”
