Miracle three survived crash: Qld cops

It's a miracle three young people survived a crash on the Sunshine Coast that completely crumpled their car, police say.

The car slammed into a tree at Cooroy, in the hinterland, about 6.20pm on Thursday night.

"The vehicle was completely ruined on impact. When there is this level of destruction in a traffic crash, you often fear the worst," Sergeant Mal Scott said, adding it was a miracle the trio could crawl out of the car.

The male driver, 18, and a man, 20, were transported to Nambour General Hospital in serious but stable condition, while a 16-year-old female sustained a minor facial injury.
