Mind the gap: Moving train's door stuck wide open

A passenger has filmed a fast-moving train travelling with its doors wide open on the Gold Coast.

Video obtained exclusively by 9NEWS showed the train moving down the north-bound Doomben line, from Nerang, about 7.30am with one of its entry doors agape.

Nine News understands the doors would not close at Robina, forcing the attendant to manually switch off the mechanics at the main frame.

However, it is then believed an exterior button was pushed at the Nerang stop, triggering the hydraulic mechanics to push the doors open.

No further incidents are understood to have occurred as a result of the error.

Queensland Rail has been contacted for comment.
