Man 'torched home, locked himself in'
AAP
Police have had to rescue a man who locked himself inside a Brisbane home and set it on fire.
Police say the man had earlier made threats against his estranged family, before returning to his home at Wynnum West and locking himself inside.
Officers were unable to coax him out and when he allegedly set fire to a bedroom they forced their way inside to save him.

Three police officers suffered minor smoke inhalation as they broke down a door and pulled the man out on Thursday night.
Damage to the home was minor.
The 31-year-old man will face the Wynnum Magistrates Court on Friday charged with assaulting police, unlawful damage, and threatening violence.
