Man still free following Gold Coast siege

A man remains on the loose after reportedly threatening to set a home alight in a Gold Coast suburb on Wednesday night.

A block was shut down and neighbouring residents removed from around the property for about four hours after reports a man had been pouring petrol around the Gaven property. But when police entered the house about 9pm, the man was nowhere to be found.

It's understood the man is not considered to be a threat to the community and has no history with the police.
