Brisbane cyclist stabbed with screwdriver

A cyclist has been stabbed repeatedly by a man wielding a screwdriver on a Brisbane bike path.

The rider, 46, suffered chest and shoulder injuries in the frenzied attack near Venice Street at Norman Park in the city's inner-east on Sunday morning.

The attacker fled on foot but police arrested a man a short time later who is now being questioned.

The cyclist was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition.
