A man is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after he was stabbed while walking along a Brisbane street last night.

The 37-year-old man was walking in Wooloongabba when he was approached by two youths who allegedly punched him in the side of the head and demanded his wallet.

“They’ve gotten into a bit of a disagreement, and [the victim] has been stabbed twice by these people, who then ran off,” Inspector Rob Graham said.

Police said the men ran off empty handed.

The victim ran to a convenience store to call for help and was taken to hospital shortly after.

Police are still looking for the men involved.
