Man shot in face checks into Qld hospital

A man with a gunshot wound to his face has checked himself into a Gold Coast hospital.

The man presented himself to hospital staff with the non-life threatening injury around 4am on Saturday, police say.

Initial investigations suggest the early morning attack was targeted and took place inside an Ashmore property, with police appealing for any potential witnesses to come forward.
