Man punched, hit with chair in Qld home

A man has allegedly been repeatedly punched and hit with a chair at his Cairns home.
Police say the 58-year-old was assaulted after another man, 42, came to his house and spoke with him on Wednesday afternoon.
He was taken to hospital with facial lacerations and bruising.

The younger man, from Townsville, has been charged with entering a dwelling with intent and assault occasioning bodily harm whilst armed.
He is due to face the Cairns Magistrate Court on Thursday.
