Man on arson charge after Caboolture fire

A man has been charged with arson and assaulting police after a fire that badly damaged a unit in Caboolture in Queensland's southeast.

Police were called to the burning unit at 4.20pm on Sunday and as they tried to arrest a man at the scene he allegedly resisted violently causing a minor injury to an officer.

A 30-year-old man has been charged with one count of arson and two counts of assault police to appear in the Hervey Bay Magistrates Court via phone on Monday.
