Man knocks out Qld cop with elbow

A police officer has been knocked out after being called to a disturbance at a Cairns shopping centre.

Police say the man at the centre of the commotion hit the officer in the face with his elbow. The officer was knocked unconscious but is expected to make a full recovery.

A 31-year-old man is facing serious assault charges over the incident at Manunda on Sunday morning.
