Man injured in Qld domestic incident

A man is in hospital with head injuries after a suspected domestic violence incident on the Gold Coast.

Police and paramedics were called to Tarcoola Crescent on Chevron Island, Surfers Paradise, about 12.30pm on Wednesday.

A man who suffered head injuries was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital, while a woman with minor abrasions to her legs did not require treatment.

A second man was taken into custody over the incident, a police spokesman said, however his link to the pair was not clear.

Police said there was nothing to suggest the woman was run over by a car, contrary to some reports, and investigations were continuing.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said the matter was initially reported as a traffic incident.
