Man in his 40s hurt in Qld tree plunge

A middle-aged man has back injuries after falling six metres from a tree at a popular holiday spot north of Cairns.
The man, in his 40s, had climbed a large tree at Palm Cove but apparently slipped and fell about 2am on Wednesday, the ambulance service said.
He was taken to the Cairns hospital in a stable condition.
