Man hurt after running at Qld police car

An alleged thief has been injured after running at a police car on the Gold Coast.

Police used tyre spikes to stop a car with stolen number plates that was being driven in a suspicious manner at Palm Beach on Sunday night.

When they caught up he was on foot and ran at a police car, injuring himself, despite the officer's efforts to miss him.

The man, 21, suffered minor abrasions to his face and body. He'll face 27 charges including stealing and possession of stolen property when he fronts court on Monday.
