Queensland man hit by train after dodging lowered boom gate while being chased

A man has been hit by a train in Logan after being chased onto the tracks by a group of men in a 4WD.

The 22-year-old is thought to have been involved in a two-car crash that happened as the group in the 4WD tried to stop an alleged car theft in Beenleigh at about 11.20pm last night.

After the crash, the man got out of his car and ran around lowered boom gates at Spanns Road in order to cross the tracks and was hit by a train.

The train also narrowly missed the 4WD.

He was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital with non-life-threatening head injuries.

No one on the train was injured.
