Man found with guns, blank licences

A man is facing weapons and fraud charges after police pulled over his car and allegedly found guns and a stash of blank Queensland drivers' licences.

Police stopped the 24-year-old's vehicle at Robina on the Gold Coast on Thursday.

They found two guns, firearm shells, blank Queensland driver's licenses, a quantity of drugs and a sum of cash.

Officers later raided a property in Surfers Paradise and found printers allegedly used to print fake IDs.

The Logan man has been charged with forgery, unlawful possession of weapons, receiving stolen goods, and drug possession.

He's also facing three counts of failure to appear in accordance with undertaking.

He's due to face the Southport Magistrates Court on Friday as police investigations continue.

The case is not believed to be linked to another scam involving fake drivers licences in Queensland.

The Crime and Corruption Commission is investigating a public servant in the Department of Transport and Main Roads for allegedly issuing licences to people who knowingly gave false or misleading information during their applications.
