Two dead after separate Qld road accidents

Two Queensland car crash victims have died in the space of 24 hours.

On Tuesday morning a man crashed into a tree after his car veered off Gatton-Esk Road at Mount Hallen shortly before 10am.

Emergency services tried to free him from the wreckage but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Overnight, an elderly pedestrian who was struck by a car earlier this month died in hospital.

The 70-year-old man was walking along Ipswich Road on January 3 when he was hit.
