Man dead after Rockhampton car crash

A man has died in a car crash near Rockhampton, in central Queensland.

Police say a sedan going west along Lakes Creek Road was involved in an accident with a four wheel-drive travelling east at around 6pm on Monday.

A man who was a back seat passenger of the sedan has died, while the driver and front seat passenger sustained serious injuries and were taken to the Rockhampton Base Hospital in a critical condition.

The occupants of the 4WD were taken to the Rockhampton Base Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
