Man charged over Qld carjackings

A man will face court accused of punching a woman and two men in two separate carjackings north of Brisbane.

Police say the man got into a stationary four-wheel drive on the Bruce Highway at Griffin on Saturday and punched the female passenger before attacking the male driver and driving across three lanes of traffic and colliding with a truck trailer.

About an hour later the man allegedly stole a car after punching a motorist getting petrol at a Virginia service station.

He's been charged with several offences and will face the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday.
