Man charged over Qld army barracks drama

A man who allegedly took a fake gun onto a far north Queensland army base is facing two charges.
Townsville's Lavarack Barracks was briefly forced into lock down on Tuesday afternoon after witnesses reported seeing an intruder with a gun.
But the weapon turned out to be a replica.

The alleged intruder, 24, has been charged with going armed to cause fear and trespassing on Commonwealth land.
He's due to face the Townsville Magistrates Court on Wednesday morning.
