Man charged over fatal Qld crash

A man is to appear in a north Queensland court accused of multiple driving offences over a fatal car crash last week.

A 22-year-old man died in hospital on Monday of injuries he sustained in last week's smash in Bowen.

Police say the 20-year-old driver, who allegedly ran off after losing control of the car and crashing into a power pole, faces charges including failing to remain at a road incident and dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death.

He'll appear at Bowen Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
