Man charged over fatal knife attack in Qld

A 53-year-old man has been charged with inflicting fatal stab wounds on another man during a fight in central Queensland.

The men got into a argument at a unit in West Mackay on Saturday night.

It's alleged the 53-year-old produced a knife and stabbed his victim, 49, in the chest. He died in hospital on Sunday despite undergoing surgery.

The accused man is facing one count of murder and is due to face the Mackay Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
