Man charged after woman hurt in Brisbane

A man has been charged with assaulting and wounding a woman and obstructing police at a home in outer southern Brisbane.

Officers were called to the home in Sunnybank Hills just after 8pm on Saturday following reports of a fight and arrested a 46-year-old man.

A 50-year-old woman was treated for facial injuries and a stab wound to her leg and taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.

The man has been charged with unlawful wounding, assault occasioning bodily harm, assault and assault or obstruct police.

He is due to appear in Richlands Magistrates Court on Monday.
