Man charged after Qld woman robbed

A man has allegedly robbed an elderly woman at a Brisbane ATM, leaving her with facial injuries after she fought back.

Police say the man, 30, snatched the cash out of a Queen Street ATM where an 85-year-old woman had withdrawn money in the shopping precinct about 12.45pm on Monday.

The woman attempted to grab the man's shirt but he allegedly pushed her over and she cut her face on the ground.

Members of the public detained the man until police arrived.

He is set to face Brisbane Magistrates Court on January 19 charged with robbery and used personal violence.
