Man charged after baseball bat assault

A man has been charged over a baseball bat attack that left another man with serious head injuries in north Queensland on Wednesday.
Police say the 42-year-old man struck a 43-year-old man several times around the head with the bat following an altercation between the pair at a home in Bowen around 3pm.
The victim has been taken to Townsville Hospital with serious head injuries, while the alleged offender is due to face Mackay Magistrates Court on Thursday charged with one count of grievous bodily harm.
