Man caught with axe at Brisbane court

A man who was caught with an axe at a Brisbane court had forgotten the weapon was in his bag, police say.

Officers were called to the Brisbane Magistrates Court just before 10am on Wednesday after the axe was detected by security scanners.

The man told them he had forgotten the axe was in his bag and was allowed to continue on his way, a police spokeswoman said.
