Man arrested after Qld hospital incident

A man has been arrested after sparking a security threat at a Gold Coast Hospital.
The man was taken into custody after allegedly threatening staff at the Gold Coast University Hospital on Thursday morning.
A Queensland Police Service spokesman said the man was currently in the Southport watch-house.

A Gold Coast Health spokesperson said he did not, despite earlier reports, have a weapon and the facility was not put into lockdown.
"Security staff identified a potential threat outside Gold Coast University Hospital about 11.20am," a statement said.
"The area was isolated and the matter escalated to police, who have since contained the issue."
