Machete and hammer used in Qld pub robbery

Two men have allegedly used a machete and a hammer to rob a pub on the Gold Coast.

Police say the pair threatened a staff member and security officer at the pub on the Old Pacific Highway at Oxenford about 3.40am on Saturday.

One of the men jumped over the counter and took money from a cash register before the pair fled in a small black hatchback parked outside, police said.

Police are yet to find the pair, but found a gold link necklace believed to have been dropped at the scene by one of the men.
