LNP Redlands candidate revealed

Queensland's Liberal National Party has named its candidate to contest the seat of a Queensland MP famous for plonking his penis in a wine glass.

Rank and file members in the seat of Redlands voted in October to dump their local member Peter Dowling.

Mr Dowling had been under a cloud after it was revealed he'd had an affair while an MP and his mistress had published photos of him dangling his penis in a wine glass.

The LNP announced on Saturday that senior Queensland government adviser Matt McEachan had been chosen as the party's candidate in next year's state election.

Mr McEachan says roads, jobs and frontline services are among his priorities for Redlands.

"I am passionate about this beautiful region and will be talking to the people of Redlands about my plan for the community," he said in a statement.
