The plane crashed into a property at Musch Road in Stockleigh, close to residential homes in the area.
Police on Monday afternoon confirmed two people were killed in the crash.
Their families are still being contacted.
“Tragically when we attended, we located two deceased persons within that aircraft,” Chief Superintendent Mel Adams said.
“It was quite a confronting scene for our first responders.”
The Beechcraft Bonanza plane took off from Archerfield Airport just after 11am and crashed in a paddock just seven minutes later.
At least eight fire trucks attended the scene to extinguish a large grassfire sparked by the crash.
Police say a crime scene will likely be in place until Tuesday.
Australian Transport Safety Bureau investigators will attend the scene.
