Lazarus looks to improve lot of aged

One man political band Glenn Lazarus wants to boost the aged pension by 20 per cent.

The Queensland senator, who will fly under his own banner at Saturday's election - Glenn Lazarus Team - with five additional candidates, is set on improving the living standards of older Australians.

Mr Lazarus' scheme, which he announced in Brisbane on Tuesday, involves increasing the aged pension and implementing a national concession scheme to reduce the cost of living.
