Unlicensed driver behind alleged hit-run death of Queensland father
A 30-year-old man, who allegedly killed a Queensland father in a hit-and-run yesterday, was driving without a licence.
The incident occurred about 5am on First Avenue in Kingaroy, where Colin Watson was walking with a 27-year-old friend.
Police allege the 36-year-old was hit from behind by a black Mercedes, with the driver allegedly fleeing the scene.

Watson died at the scene and was just metres from his home.
His family revealed he had simply been out to get some milk and remembered him as a "good mate" with a kind heart.
"Because we all wanted coffee, and there was no milk so Colin and his mate went down the shop," his aunt Pauline Donoghue said.
The 27-year-old man was taken to hospital as a precaution.

The incident unfolded on First Avenue, near Logan Road. Nine
Police located the driver of the Mercedes at a home on Boonenne Ellesmere Road in Taabinga.
He was arrested and has since been charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death and driving without a licence.
The 30-year-old will face a Murgon Magistrates Court today.
