Katter justifies no confidence in Miller

The Katter's Australian Party (KAP) insists its vote of no confidence in Queensland's embattled police minister has nothing to do with a string of bungles she's been under fire over.

KAP state leader Rob Katter said his party sided with the Opposition over the narrowly defeated motion on Wednesday night because Jo-Ann Miller refused to consult with the firearms industry over a national review.

"We had about seven attempts to have a meeting with the minister ... (and) I finally got a meeting with the minster that wasn't productive," Mr Katter said.

"That was neglect of the position and neglect of a large industry that's out there that you may not agree with, but they deserve to be listened to."
