Injuries in Queensland quad bike crash

A Queensland man has been taken to hospital with serious neck injuries after a quad bike crash.

Police in Townsville saw three people riding the bike and attempted to intercept it around 7.15pm on Thursday.

The rider tried to evade police, driving on the wrong side of the road and into bushland where it crashed.

It's emerged they drove through a barbed wire fence before crashing.

A 44-year-old man has been taken to Townsville Hospital with serious neck injuries, a 30-year-old man has facial injuries and an 11-year-old boy escaped unharmed.

Investigations are continuing.
