'Illegal immigrants' detained in Qld

Three men suspected of being illegal immigrants have reportedly been detained in Cairns.

The men, who are believed to be Indian nationals, are being held at the Cairns watch house, the ABC reports.

They were detained at Innisfail, south of Cairns, on Monday after being unable to produce identification and immigration documents, the broadcaster said.

Police declined to comment when contacted by AAP.

Comment is being sought from immigration officials.
