Hunt for missing Qld swimmer continues

A man last seen swimming away from a Sunshine Coast beach in January is still being searched for by Queensland police.

Ricky Gardner, 37, was last seen entering the water and swimming away at Noosa on January 9 and police still haven't been able to determine if he made it back to shore and left the water safely.

Police have since received information that Mr Gardner may be in the Crows Nest area, in the Darling Downs, but an extensive search has been unable to locate him.

Anyone who may know Mr Gardner's whereabout is urged to contact police.

Mr Gardner is described as Caucasian, approximately 178cm tall with a slim build and light complexion.

It was unknown what clothes he was wearing at the time he went missing.
