Gold Coast body not suspicious, say police

Police say they're not treating the discovery of a body on the Gold Coast as suspicious.

The body, which is believed to have been at the site for several days, was located about 11.30am on Wednesday on the eastern side of the Southport Spit.

A crime scene has been established in bushland just off Seaworld Dr, near the Sheraton Mirage hotel.

It's unknown if the body is that of a man or a woman.
