High Court rejects Chardon appeal bid
AAP
A Gold Coast man jailed for sexually assaulting a teenage girl in the late 1990s has failed in a bid to have his case reviewed by the High Court.
John William Chardon, whose wife Novy has been missing since 2013, sought special leave to appeal to the country's highest court after the Queensland Court of Appeal rejected a legal challenge to his conviction in October 2015.
The one-time businessman was sentenced to six years' imprisonment in 2014 after he was found guilty of six historical child sex offences, including rape and attempted rape.

The High Court dismissed the application on Wednesday.
